Dear Saligaokars,

I am searching for my families roots / history. We come from saligao, from a vado called tabrovado... well my grand parents are Theophilus and Cecelia Cordeiro. I am the niece of the famous Lorna Cordeiro. I just know of my immediate cousins but would like to research and know of my ancestors and how they got here.

While going through the February 2006 issue of the Goa Today, I came across a listing of three deaths in Saligao. Some on our list would surely know the departed persons, or their family.

[Effie and the late Emmie were in school with us. Cedric Emar de Souza came from a prominent family in the village and was known to my family. Mrs Caldeira lived at Donvaddo, and her grand-daughter was my daughter Riza's friend, when they were in play-school together...]

* CAETANO ANTONIO REMEDIOS died on January 23, 2006, husband of late Apolonia, father of late Emmie, Effie/Suresh.

* CEDRIC MICHAEL ROSARIO EMAR DE SOUZA died on December 30, 2005, son of late Thome Emar de Souza and late Lira Prisc de Souza, brother/brother-in law of Blandina/Alfredo Araujo & Steven.
